Books
I am currently working on my first book, that I hope to be published by the end of 2024.
List of books I have written, in order of their writing, newest at the top:
Edward Watson: I was Fighting For The Truth Expected November 2024.
Edward Watson: Being Different Is Good, They Said... Expected July 2025.
Edward Watson: Finding My Path Expected September 2025.
Ollie E. P. Watson: The Bells of Sussex - Volume I Expected January 2025.
For the eagle eyes amongst you, it may be noticed that I write under two names. The reason for the two names is due to the differing topics of the subjects of the books. My main fascination is with campanology, which I have written about for over a decade, but I hope to keep that separate from my writing in other subject areas. Therefore, when writing about campanology and its history, it will be under the name 'Ollie E. P. Watson', whereas writing for the many other subjects that interest me will be under 'Edward Watson'. For ease of understanding, above, I have listed the upcoming publications with a gap between the two subjects.
Throughout Primary School, Secondary School and beyond, I have always had a passion for writing. Be it creative writing tasks through school, or writing notes in my notebook with my trusty Parker 51 fountain pen, my passion seems to grow with each and every day. My life has been challenging, and granted, I have only experienced 20 years of it so far, but the challenges I have faced have been pretty life consuming to the point where I have nearly died... twice. Whether it be through my physical and mental health, my neurodiversity, becoming so engrossed with hobbies that it took over my life, treated awfully (and that is putting it mildly) by the church establishment that I grew up with, or my bullying through school which led me to have a greater passion in writing; I know I am not alone in how I have experienced and continue to experience the world. My story will, I am sure, be so unique yet very relatable to a certain audience that I hope that my writing helps someone either in the same position as me or someone who is looking at it from an 'outsider' perspective. My thanks to Michelle, as without her knowledge and advice, I would not be in the position to even be thinking about writing a book!
The first book I hope to publish will, I have no doubt, be the most controversial of all. It will not be easy to write, and its aim is not to cause even more problems on top of a very problematic system. It will be in relation to my experiences with The Church of England. The idea of it is born out of my passion for the church, the people within the church and its communities, the buildings, the teachings and its general aim. With that passion comes the very reason I am writing it, because right now, it is broken. I want it's faults to be fixed. It is because I care, that I am exposing these faults. Some say that faults will take time to fix, and in some cases that may be true, but it is my belief that the largest fault can be solved by something as simple, yet so great an action, as a change in attitude. It is named 'I Was Fighting For The Truth', and I hope will be published before the end of the year.
